Head Jiu Jitsu and MMA coach, Dylan Spicer has been in competitive sports his entire life. Coach Dylan grew up playing hockey and tennis in his hometown of Grand Forks, N.D. Growing up watching Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee, Dylan secretly always wanted to be a ninja. Then in 1998, after watching the first UFC , he was instantly hooked on Mixed Martial Arts and ten began his journey into Martial Arts.
Training since 1998 with other Martial Artists of various disciplines, Dylan soon sought out the best instruction in the region that he could. Having to go no further than Minneapolis where he began training in 2001 under the same coach as MMA superstars Brock Lesnar, Sean Sherk, Brock Larson, and Dave Menne. Dylan soon made the permanent move to Minneapolis with his family to continue his Martial Arts training full time at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy (theAcademymn.com) with master trainer Greg Nelson.
While at the The Academy MN, under coach Greg Nelson, Dylan had the unique privilege of daily training with a world famous champion fight team. This amazing opportunity allowed Dylan to absorb vast amounts of training time with UFC World Champions, Division I Wrestling Champions, muay Thai Champions, expert trainers, coaches, and many others that passed through the doors at the famous Minnesota Academy.
