Chris was born in Rugby, North Dakota. He wrestled, played football and ran track at Bowman High School in Bowman, North Dakota. He was a two-time North Dakota State high school wrestling champion (compiling a 125-7 record) in the Heavyweight division.
Chris was a dominant collegiate wrestler. He wrestled for three years at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, and two years at Moorehead State University in Moorehead, Minnesota. He was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American (placing 2nd and 5th at the National Championships).
Following his amateur wrestling career, Chris began successfully competing in mixed martial arts (“MMA”) events. He has earned seventeen professional MMA victories and has suffered only one loss in his MMA career. His MMA resume includes victories over Jimmy Ambriz, Noah Inhofer, Krzysztof Soszynski, Travis Fulton, Tony Mendoza, Brandon Lee Hinkle and Tony Sylvester.
Chris currently trains under Greg Nelson and Marty Morgan at Brock Lesnar’s private training facility in Alexandria, Minnesota. When not training at the Academy, Chris spends his time at the Acadeemy of Combat Arts honing his skills with Coach Dylan Spicer.
When he is not training for an MMA event, Chris enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Natalie, and three year-old daughter, Arabelle.
